Week of October 19th through the 23rd.
Oct 20th, 2009 by kempel
As the season begins to change, so do the weeks ahead of us. This week we are testing if seeds can grow with just water. A lot of the children have a good deal of knowledge of how plants grow and have predicted that bean plants will grow in only water. In math we are beginning to study place value to the 10,000. In reading we are continuing to track our thinking and learning different steps that readers do. In writing we are studying poetry and will begin our letters to send with our flat selves.
Congratulations are to those who made the Missoula Children’s Play:; Peyton, Kienna, and Desiree. Don’t forget to come and enjoy the show.
Also the high school is coming to teach the younger ones arts and craft. Our turn will be Wednesday during 7th period.
By the way, homework packet has a new feature. Since we have been working on writing a summary during reading, I am asking them to practice at home by completing a chart with the who, what, where, why, when, and how. I am asking them to complete this for two stories. Your help is greatly appreciated.
